点评:My partner and I with our dog arrived a little after 11 a.m. on a Monday. The GPS directions were perfect to put you right to the parking lot of the East Trailhead. The parking was plentiful, and there were a few shady spots. It is free to park and walk the trail. The walk to the tunnel is an easy 1/2 mile from the parking lot. There are a few dog collection bags/bins along the way, but we always bring our own. There is signage as you go along to describe the historical pointers of the tunnel. It is well mapped out with mileage signs as there is no staff in the area. We saw a few people here and there, but for the most part it was clear. You can feel the coolness of the tunnel even before you enter it. Bring a really good flashlight. We thought we did, but the darkness in the tunnel is deep. We walked about 1/2 way through and turned around as we didn't have the best of flashlights. There is water in the tunnel on both edges, and sometimes in pits in the center. We were there for about 45 minutes total for just an easy walk. It was a quick trip that we really enjoyed, and I would really like to come back with a bike (there were quite a few bikers around) and a better light.
