Whales and calves right there at our feet!

点评：Do not hurry by. This is an amazing spot for viewing whales and their calves during the breeding season from June to October - the viewing platforms have been built right out onto the cliffs. The view is also spectacular. It is not far off the Eyre highway and a short distance from Nullarbor Roadhouse (25km) and 89km from Yatala Roadhouse and Caravan park. There is info at both roadhouses on how many whales and calves have been sighted and at the entrance to the feeder road. The road in is good and there are facilities including toilets, undercover picnic area and a large carpark at the Tourist centre, which also has cold drinks and snacks. The viewing platform and ramps are reasonably accessible . There is an entry fee (eg at the time of writing $20/adult, $50 family 2 adults 2 children) but it is well worth paying and this helps maintain the excellent facilities. Pets are not permitted into the Tourist Centre or the boardwalk - but you can have them in the carpark (we have a motorhome so no problems leaving our boy and it was reasonably cool, but if you are in a car think about the temperature as there is not much shade).
