点评：We took the shuttle up to the hike start place the week before Labor Day. With a reservation ahead you save almost 50%. It’s a nice sturdy modern bus and easily made the ascent. They narrate some interesting stories so i recommend you listen. They have rest rooms and park rangers where the bus drops you.
We did the crater lake hike when we got to the bus drop point. This is about 2 miles each way, and took a little over an hour each way at a medium pace, it’s a rocky trail, some parts tricky and I would not go if it’s wet. The lake at the 2 mile mark was dried up this year but was still a nice hike. We packed a lunch and some waters as there is nothing there to purchase.
The weather was warm and sunny, though it said 70 degrees it felt 10 degrees hotter. The hike is only partially shaded so wear sunscreen and hats!!
