My family and I have been visiting Gan HaShlosha (Sachne) for many years. Before COVID, this was one of our absolute favorite places in Israel. We brought our children here many times, and whenever family visited us from the United States, this was always one of the first places we proudly took them. It truly felt like a paradise of fresh spring water.
Yesterday, August 9th, I left Ashdod at 6:00 AM so we could be among the first visitors through the gates. Our goal was to get our favorite shaded area by the children's pool, on the left side of the bridge that separates the shallow children's area from the deeper swimming area.
We entered as soon as the park opened, drove straight there, parked, and carried all of our equipment to our usual spot. What we found was extremely disappointing.
The beautiful stone-covered shaded area, which used to have small water channels running through it to create a cool and relaxing atmosphere, had been completely neglected. The channels were clogged with years of accumulated cigarette butts, dirt, plastic cups, sunflower seed shells, old wet wipes, bottle caps, and other garbage. The smell was terrible.
I even grabbed a plastic bag and tried cleaning part of it myself, but it quickly became obvious that this was not the result of a few days or even a few weeks of neglect. It looked like these areas had not been properly cleaned for a very long time.
As the morning became warmer, the odor faded somewhat, and we decided to stay because our children love this park. We tried to ignore the condition and simply enjoy the day, but we also told ourselves that this might be our last visit.
Later, we visited the restrooms next to the small food store. Ironically, this was probably the cleanest area in the entire park. The landscaping around the main paths was clearly maintained, but once you reached the water's edge, it was a completely different story.
Trash was scattered throughout many areas of the shoreline—cans, plastic cups, bottles, broken inflatable tubes, and other litter. I saw cleaning staff working around the park, but not in the areas that needed attention the most, and by then it was already around 9:00 AM.
I also noticed that barbecuing is no longer permitted, which I actually think is a positive change. However, years ago, when grilling was still allowed, I remember the park being remarkably clean everywhere—even in the hidden corners. It was heartbreaking to see how much things have deteriorated over the past few years.
Another major disappointment was the condition of the water itself. There used to be an abundance of fish and aquatic life. Now, slippery moss and algae cover many of the surfaces. Some of the platforms around the children's swimming area were so slippery that it was difficult to walk safely while holding young children. It felt genuinely dangerous. I do not remember it ever being like this.
I want to be clear: the park itself is still beautiful. The parking areas, lawns, and general grounds are well maintained. But the very reason people come to Gan HaShlosha—the stunning spring water and its shoreline—appears to have been neglected.
I understand that visitors create much of the litter. That is unavoidable. However, cleaning and maintaining these areas is the responsibility of the park management, and the current standard simply is not acceptable.
I sincerely hope this feedback reaches the appropriate people and leads to meaningful improvements. Gan HaShlosha is one of Israel's most beautiful natural treasures. It deserves the level of care and maintenance that made it such a special place for so many families over the years.
I will also be sharing this experience on social media, not to discourage people from visiting, but in the hope that public attention encourages the improvements this incredible park deserves.

我甚至拿了一个塑料袋，试着亲自清理了一部分，但很快便发现，这种情况绝不是几天甚至几周疏于打理所造成的。这些地方看起来已经很久没有得到妥善清理了。

需要说明的是：公园本身依然很美丽。停车场、草坪以及整个园区都维护得不错。但人们前来甘·哈什洛沙公园的原因——那清澈的泉水与美丽的湖岸——似乎却被忽视了。我明白，大部分垃圾都是游客留下的。这是无法避免的。不过，清理和维护这些区域是公园管理方的责任，而目前的状况实在不可接受。
我真心希望这份反馈能够传达给相关负责人，并促成切实的改善。甘哈什洛沙是以色列最美丽的自然瑰宝之一。它值得得到精心照料与维护，也正因如此，多年来它才成为无数家庭心目中的绝佳去处。
我也会在社交媒体上分享这段经历。这么做并非为了劝阻人们前来参观，而是希望借助公众的关注来推动这座了不起的公园获得应有的改善。
