点评：This was a sightseeing stop on a DayTrip transfer from Basel to Zurich. We're so glad we chose it, and wished we had allowed more time.
The castle is so interesting and the history is amazing. It is an immersive experience into the lives of the Hallwyl family and their guests. Not only will you learn about the day to day life of the family, but you'll also explore medical treatments of the day, food procurement and storage, as well as the care of animals kept by the family.
The grounds are beautiful, and countryside is gorgeous.
Although most of the signage is in German, we were provided with complimentary English audio devices. It was a bit of a challenge to find the connection points (wait until you get inside the castle itself, don't try to connect while exploring the unenclosed areas). Once connected, the audio tour worked smoothly and helped us deeply understand the day-to-day activities of the family and friends that lived here.
The staff is very friendly and works hard to make your visit enjoyable. Ample parking is available directly across the street.
