点评:We saw this attraction listed on the map and thought that it sounded interesting, so decided to pop in for a visit. First off, the welcome we received was very friendly. We were the only two people on the 13:00 tour and our guide, ex-teacher Steve, brought the whole experience and history of the mine to life. He also involved us by asking us questions, so it was made the tour more interesting, rather than just being talked at.
The admission fee was reasonable at £10 per adult, but they also do a concession for people over 60 which was a nice surprise. The tour itself is approximately an hour long and you can also spend some time looking through the exhibitions that are available. The exhibitions are regularly changed and the really great thing is that you get a free admission pass for a whole year once you have paid your entry fee.
I can honestly say that the Land of Iron is definitely worth a visit.
Lastly, there are old style miners lamps as part of the display in the main entrance. It would have been lovely to have been able to purchase one as a memento of the visit. May I please suggest that they are made available to sell?
