点评：We came and did the Dig It experience and the thunder egg prospecting.
Dig It was fantastic, our son had so much fun driving the diggers and trying the different activities. They were well set up and the staff were helpful too.
I would suggest that the RC area needs some raised seating around it so smaller children can get a better view of the area as all of us were getting stuck constantly on obstacles that were hard to navigate from such a low angle. Having fine gravel or a generally easier floor to get around would help too.
The prospecting was a bit of a bust, after 2 hours we’d not found anything worth cutting and I ended up buying a thunder egg for the sake of having something to take home. It wasn’t helped by my son being given a tool with two blunt points on it where most kids were given one with a blade on one side and a point on the other. It was like trying to dig with a hammer and he quickly got tired so I had to do a lot of digging to help him.
I think I would recommend that children under 8 should probably stick to the crystal panning unless they’re a serious rock hound. I certainly wished we’d done that instead.
The cafe food was good, more or less the same price as you’d pay at any other attraction. Which is to say expensive but you can always bring your own.
It’s clear a lot of work has gone into the place and it’s definitely worth a visit.
