点评:Yesterday we took the kids here as the weather was good and it was open on Easter Sunday. I am so glad we went because we had the most wonderful time. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by a friendly staff member who gave us all the information about how best to proceed around the museum. We bumped into an Easter bunny who was happy to tell us about the Easter events. At 2:15 there was a free bus ride in a beautiful vintage double decker bus, it was a glorious trip around the local area, lots of beautiful countryside and the bus stopped part way through the trip so we could take photographs. One of the volunteers came around with a vintage ticket machine issuing tickets to passengers, my kids were delighted.
After our trip we took part in a free Easter chick hunt, we had to find 12 chicks that were dotted around the exhibits, it was great fun. We then had a brilliant time looking at all the different buses through the years, there were lots to look at and it was very informative and interactive. Some of the buses were open for visitors to go on and take a look, one of the buses looked exactly like me old school bus and bought back great memories. There was a children's play area that included a miniature bus that children could get inside and pretend to drive. There was also a great little area for smaller children too, filled with little toy buses. There was a book section and a creative area where you could produce crayon rubbings of old buses.
There's also a Morris Minor section and a bike section which was an added bonus, we enjoyed learning about the local history of the car and bike industry. We didn't get a chance to try out the cafe or look in the shop because we were having so much fun, we didn't realise that it was closing time but we will definitely be coming back as it was a brilliant, joyful, fun family day out and very reasonably priced with free parking . If you are nearby, you must visit this beautiful gem of a museum.
