Great experience at the very professionally run Phil Price Rally School.

点评：I booked this rally experience as a retirement present for myself and although I'd done some rallying before back in my 20's I was really looking forward to trying it again in my 60's. I arrived to a very warm welcome and a coffee before sitting down and meeting the rest of the group and the team who were going to run the day. John explained the format of the day and spoke about the techniques used to get the car through the corners in the most efficient way, we then went onto the training circuit and started driving the rear wheel drive Subaru, solo at first then with an instructor which certainly helped improve our technique. After lunch (take your own) we went out with John the proper rally stage and he explained the best techniques for driving a 4 wheel drive Subaru on gravel.
When it was my turn to go out on the gravel stage John talked me through the corners using basic pace notes and lots of encouragement and after a short while I was confident enough to push the car faster, it was just unbelievable how much grip there was and I really did feel in control. It was over in a flash but John said I'd done well having listened to him in the morning briefing so I was pleased with that.
The final trip in the 4 wheel drive was with John driving and my god can he drive that thing to it's limits, I never felt in any danger though and I'd have to say it's the best fun you can have with your clothes on! There was a timed competition at the end on the training circuit it was just a bit of fun but good to see everyone had improved throughout the day, we all received a gift from John at the end and a after a few photo's the day was done.
I'd definitely recommend the Phil Price Rally School and will definitely book it again in the future, thanks to all the team for a fantastic experience and I was pleased to see my old rally gloves hadn't forgotten what to do!
