点评:We decided to stay overnight at Rakkojae in the village which enabled a visit to the Folk Village without a long day trip. The village unlike many in the county is not there just for show but has a living community and is UNESCO listed. The visitor centre and market place lies just outside the village area has is well equipped with car parking, shops and has free luggage storage which is quite useful. Transportation to the village is by shuttle bus, included within the cost of the ticket.
There is a useful map available which points out all the important historical highlights and good information boards with background information. The walk around with its thatched roofs is interesting and because of its size never feels too busy. There is no access to any of the houses but you can get glimpses in some instances and there are a couple of houses set up for exhibitions, one on its most famous resident who rose to the post of Prime Minister, the other commemorating the visit of Queen Elizabeth II. Everything is well maintained and it is certainly worth the effort to go. Needs around two hours and in addition there is also a good world mask museum at the visitor centre and a daily theatre for the Haeoe Masked Dance accessed in an area just outside the drop-off for the village. show at 2pm daily both included in the ticket cost.
