点评：The building of this museum is unmissable thanks to its size and its distinctive brick-red color. Everything inside is made of wood, which creates a wonderful old-world atmosphere. As I walked up and down the creaking staircases, which sometimes have quite high steps, I wondered how people could manage them every day—especially the ladies in long dresses—without falling. When viewing the exhibits, don't forget to look up and admire the beautiful wooden ceilings.
The exhibition is spread across several floors and focuses on the modern history of Bulgaria. Here you will find examples of clothing, small period-style rooms (such as a traditional coffee room), furniture, books, documents, and even a copy of the bell from St. Nikola Church, whose chime signaled the outbreak of the rebellion in Klisura. It’s a great place to learn about who ruled present-day Bulgaria in the past and what the path of its inhabitants to an independent state looked like.
