点评:Came here for the first time with colleagues on the 8th of December at about 6:30pm.
Now, I've just read a recent review on here about the 'best bouncer' ever at Waxy's so I'm taking a guess ours was not the same person!
The bouncer on this particular day was chatting to someone in front of us for quite some time and as the person he was talking to, turned to leave, my colleague asked if it was OK for us to go in as he was unsure if we needed permission from him or not. The whole time we waited, we were stood outside happily chatting and waiting to go in. The bouncer snapped at him "Wait until I finish speaking to someone first!" We all stood there in shock. My colleague apologised and said he wasn't sure so thought he would ask the question and he didn't mean to upset him.
Then when the bouncer asked to see inside my bag (I didn't hear him to be honest and I was afraid to ask him to repeat what he said as he was clearly in a bad mood), I assumed he wanted to see my ID to which he then rolled his eyes at me like I was wasting his time, got very annoyed with me and wouldn't speak to me when I asked what it was he wanted to see as I was very confused . I apologised and tried to make a joke when I realised my mistake (which my colleague had to point out to me) but his bad mood was clearly not budging. This really put a damper for the rest of our visit. First impressions were not good!
Whilst we were inside, we saw him walk to the end of the short path to the entrance of the pub and physically push the crowd as they were walking past, shouting at them to move. I mean, who does that? Is that the sort of behaviour that's deemed acceptable by Waxy's staff members?
Needless to say we won't be coming back here again. I've met a lot of wonderful bouncers before who've been welcoming and helpful but this has to be the rudest one I have ever come across. I hope Waxy's take another look at employing good, decent bouncers instead of one's that are aggressive for no good reason and don't know how to interact politely with their customers.
