Very interesting smaller NT property.

点评：I've been past the signs for this place so many times, but never visited, so I took advantage of the generous Heritage Week Open Day and satisfied my curiosity. At that price it's hard to complain!
The estate tour was very good, and helped set an overall context.
The house itself was fascinating - a maze of rooms with many interesting artefacts, though I'd have been interested to learn more about the domestic aspects too. I appreciate they can only display what they have on the record, but I couldn't work out even basic things like where the kitchen had been ( I could easily have missed something obvious!). I'd have liked to know something about the staff who would surely have lived there - or nearby. Might that be on census information?
Or have I got it wrong - were these two amazing cousins so far ahead of their time that they truly didn't have any 'people' who did the essential but dreary things for them?
Many of the volunteers were very helpful and welcoming. One or two were a little officious and a bit off-putting, unfortunately. Though, as I say, at the price I got in for today, I'm not going to grumble.

或者我理解错了——这两位才华横溢的表兄弟是否远远超越了他们所处的时代，以至于真的没有任何仆人来为他们打理那些琐碎又乏味的日常事务呢？
许多志愿者都非常乐于助人且热情友好。可惜的是，有一两个人显得有些爱多管闲事，有点让人反感。不过，正如我所说，以我今天所付的价钱来看，我也没什么可抱怨的。
