点评:This cathedral stands on the corner of a busy main road and is situated above road level with steps leading up to it and its crypt underneath those steps. It has very intricate architecture on its exterior with large white stone pillars, an apex and a small turret to its peak. Around its entrance gates and doorway are some lovely dark statues and figurines that would look even better if they were white. To the side of the cathedral is a memorial to the priest and soldiers who hid here during WWII. It’s a black plaque on the wall depicting them and the date of 1942 in large numbers on the path below. Inside it’s picturesque without being outstanding. The altar is very simplistic with gold leaf murals as a backdrop and its ceiling has wonderful frescoes that unfortunately are very dark in colour. For them to be given some light would make them look much nicer. There’s not much to see in the crypt for a tourist, however, it gives a fascinating insight into what happened here and is explained in both Czech and English.
