Lovely day out, badly let down by poor quality, lack of choice and expensive prices in cafe.

点评:This was my second visit, and my grandchildren really enjoyed it. We were able to see the otters playing in the water and on the bank, and managed to see just one red squirrel; but that was a treat in itself! I think there would have been more to see had it not been for a family with particularly noisy children. I believe that the centre should put signs around the squirrel enclosure asking people to keep as quiet as possible!
We saw lots of other interesting animals, they mostly seemed to have good amounts of space, but I was upset by seeing the Wildcats, I feel that their enclosures are way too small and one of them was pacing up and down the same little track endlessly for over 10 minutes, which I believe is a stress behaviour. We didn’t look at the owls because personally I hate the thought of any bird being caged just so that people can have the pleasure of looking at it.
The café has gone downhill.on my last visit five years ago you could buy chips but now food offerings are sparse. Also, £7 for a child’s lunch bag is extortionate, only half of a round of sandwiches and made with ridiculously strong cheese which the children wouldn’t eat. Definitely recommend bringing your own food.
