点评:My son has raced all over the country, but Brentwood has always been our local track. Sadly, after what we witnessed yesterday, he doesn’t want to return.
I was shocked to see Cadets and Juniors racing together. Having 8-year-olds sharing the track with teenagers up to 16 years old is completely unacceptable and, as I understand it, is not in line with National Karting Association regulations. It creates a huge safety risk and should never have been allowed.
There was one older driver who appeared to know several of the stewards and was driving extremely aggressively. He was deliberately smashing into other karts, forcing drivers off the track, and showing no respect for the younger children. It felt less like racing and more like bullying and intimidation, with younger drivers becoming easy targets.
What was even more concerning was the lack of intervention. The stewards seemed to be standing around talking instead of actively watching the race, meaning dangerous driving was repeatedly ignored. As a parent, watching your 8-year-old being hit from all directions at around 50 mph is frightening. No parent should have to witness that.
Karting is supposed to teach young drivers skill, discipline, respect, and fair competition. Instead, this event felt unsafe, poorly supervised, and intimidating for the younger racers. If this continues, it is only a matter of time before someone is seriously injured.
It’s such a shame because Brentwood has lost not only a loyal customer but also a young racer who genuinely loved competing there.
