A private tour of the Great Egyptian Museum

点评：We did a full day tour with Paulo from Get Your Guide to view the Great Egyptian museum for an in depth experience of Egyptian history. Paulo and his driver were prompt to collect us and being a Friday we had a safe journey to the museum.
Paulo did not disappoint, he was obviously a fountain of knowledge on Egyptian history and the museum itself but he was generous and engaging on any questions we had about current Egyptian culture and family life today. The museum is huge and very popular with tourists and locals alike but Paulo directed us to the best views and made the tour personal and enriching, avoiding the crowds as much as possible.
After, we were taken for lunch, buffet style in a nearby restaurant that was close by with a wide range of choice and caters for tourists so that you don’t lose too much time from the tour, by this stage after six hours of walking in the museum it was quite pleasant to sit down for a while.
Our last stop for the day was to a papyrus making facility where you learnt how it has been made since ancient times followed by an exploration of precious oils and their use even today.
Paulo was an excellent guide who would have taken us to other attractions if we had wanted and ensured that we got everything we wanted out of the day’s tour, we can highly recommend him.
