Quite a Lot to do! And the Bread Tasted Lovely!

点评：Quite the multi-layered experience, Bircham Windmill is split into various areas:
1) The Windmill itself:
You can scale the Windmill going up throughout it's history floor by floor, being regaled by historical audio logs, wax statues and costumes showing off how life in the mill used to be. This has had serious money spent on it, and it shows.
(However access is via some very steep stairs. They have made it as accessible as it can be - I'm a hobbling arthritis sufferer and I managed, but there is no access for wheelchairs and your mileage may vary!).
2) The Bakery:
You can pay to bake your own bread in their kitchen! The process is split into various sections of varying times (some even take hours), so depending on how long you want to spend you might want to only do a fourth of the process, or if you want to do the whole thing, it's quite the experience! Really good family activity too as it gets the kids to make dog shaped bread and nonsense like that.
3) The cafe:
Absolutely lovely. Good food, good drinks, good atmosphere, and dog friendly.
4) A gift shop:
'Nuff said.
5) A historical archive of older footage and TV programs about Birchall:
This was fascinating and it could take hours to watch from the armchair they have in front of it. It was quite the nostalgia hit to see the old fashions of the time!
6) A Kid's Play Area:
Oddly I didn't use this but it looked OK!
7) An animal Treasure Hunt (you get stamps and everything)
8) A small plant garden
9) A small museum 'Beamish' style in the stables and cottages aside from the Windmill
All in all, it's got a lot of bang for it's buck and I can't recommend it enough!
