点评:We had most enjoyable visit to this gem of a museum. It has well displayed aircraft and associated exhibits in the main exhibition hall, all provided with detailed information. There is also a fascinating display on evolution of Gatwick airport, from racecourse to the world's busiest single runway airport.
The highlight of our visit was a tour inside the Shackleton with Tony as our knowledgeable guide. As a former technician who flew in this very aircraft during his RAF career, he provided details of the aircraft and his first hand experience of what it was like on flight operations during the cold war. His anecdotes and accounts of specific incidents were truly fascinating and informative.
The museum has a good cafe with a range of sandwiches, snacks and drinks, all at very reasonable prices. The staff were really friendly and happy to assist.
