Well maintained Botanic gardens from what I could see and I thought it was worth a visit.

点评：Set on 20 acres of what used to be the National Hospital for diseases of the chest the microclimate this side of the island experiences allows them to grow some pretty impressive ferns and bamboos and the Aussie Wilderness section and the Tree Fern Utopia were quite impressive and the plant collection includes some ten champion trees throughout the garden and there is a trail leaflet available to help you find them all.
We were lucky to arrive just before one of the daily guided tours was about to start and we jumped on this and it was a good way to explore the different areas and get a sense of the history of the plot as you got taken into the museum which details its time as a hospital. The tour also included a walk down the tunnel to the coast which is usually not accessible.
Surprised by the number of negative reviews so I will give you my thoughts on these areas where possible.
1) Poorly maintained! Well seemed OK to us, plus we went on the tour with one of the permanent gardeners and there seemed to be quite a few volunteers in as well (being the weekend), so perhaps they have put some effort into this area.
2) The gardens are not as good as they used to be ten years + ago. Sorry cannot pass judgement, this was our first visit.
3) The entry cost. Its currently £14.50 for an adult which I would say is about the going rate nowadays for privately owned attraction of this type.
4) The car park set up. The gardens benefit from the use of a massive parking area (used to be the footprint of the old hospital) but it is an open car park for the general public for people visiting Steephill Cove and just the café and shop here, so there is a charging system. Visitors to the gardens get to park free but you must enter your registration number into one of the two terminals on the entry desk. This was straight forward and does give you the option to get confirmation either by SMS or by email. I actually registered my car twice and got one of each. So, if you are incapable of entering your registration number correctly, you have at least got written evidence of your visit to challenge the penalty charge when you receive it.
5) The café is not very good. Cannot argue with this one, it’s not. Service is slow despite seeming to be several staff buzzing around doing other things. Available choices are limited and it wasn’t particularly low cost. It was OK for a coffee and a snack, but I would have been disappointed if we had intended to have lunch here instead of down at Steephill Cove.

3) 门票价格方面，目前成人票价为14.50英镑。我觉得对于这类私人经营的景点来说，这个价格也算是目前的市场行情了。4) 停车场已建成。花园区域得以利用一块巨大的停车场空间（此处原为旧医院的所在地），但该停车场是对外开放的，供前往斯蒂普希尔湾以及这里的咖啡馆和商店的公众使用，因此实行收费制度。参观花园的游客可以免费停车，但必须在入口处的两台终端机上输入自己的车牌号。这个过程相当简单，而且确实提供了通过短信或电子邮件来获取确认的选项。实际上我两次登记了我的车辆信息，因此两种确认方式我都收到了。所以，如果你无法正确输入车牌号，至少你会有书面的记录作为凭证，以便在收到罚单时提出申诉。
5) 这家咖啡馆不怎么样。这点无可争议，确实不好。虽然看起来有不少员工在忙碌着做其他事情，但服务却十分迟缓。可选的菜品很有限，而且价格也并不算特别便宜。买杯咖啡和点心的话还凑合，但如果我们原本打算在这里吃午饭，而非去不远处的Steephill Cove的话，肯定会失望的。
