A Stay at The Waterhead Inn
安博塞得水源地的点评
点评：We stayed at the Waterhead Inn for 4 nights. We had a spacious room with a lovely view to Lake Windermere. The bed was very comfortable and although the road was only a short distance between us and the lake, we were never disturbed and always had a good nights sleep. We had dinner every night at the Waterhead Inn. This was always excellent with a good variety on the menu. The breakfasts were top class with something to suit everyone. Every member of the staff whom we encountered was very friendly and helpful which contributed to the very relaxed atmosphere at the Waterhead.
We arrived about 1800 and all the car park spaces at the Inn were full. However, we parked overnight in the adjacent public car park with no problem and moved our car to the Waterhead the following morning when spaces were available.
The weather throughout our stay was superb, albeit a little too hot ! However, we were able to get out and about. We walked to Ambleside which took about 20 minutes and explored parts of the town as well as enjoying an ice cream at the Recreation Ground while watching some Crown Bowls. There was no necessity to use the car for our short stay.. Bus stops were nearby with regular services to Grasmere and Kendal.. We also enjoyed a day on Lake Windermere using a ticket bought at the Jetty just across the road, which enabled us to take any boat and get on and off anywhere.
We had a wonderful time in Cumbria. The people were so friendly throughout our travels, the scenery is magnificent and we were fortunate to experience such good weather which was an added bonus.
