点评:I have just returned from the Lake District. Before setting off to Windermere, I watched a lot of YouTube videos. However, I found that most of them can be very misleading. If your intention is to escape the hustle and bustle of a busy urban environment for the quiet and peaceful tranquility of nature, forget it. You will NOT find this in the Lake District. Obviously, the things you should expect to find during the summer season is tourists and rain. You can't complain about the rain when it is full of lakes. However, it is tourists who absolutely ruin any visit. They fail to grasp the whole point of visiting the Lake District and instead bring what you wanted to escape from with them. The small towns and villages in the Lake District are crammed full of heavy traffic, making it extremely difficult to get around on foot without some selfish idiots preventing you from walking or crossing the road. It is supposed to be a place where you expect to be free from the pollution of urban environments yet these idiots just don't get it. What part of the brain tells them to drive through narrow streets full of people on holiday and poison the area? I read lots of reviews from motorists whining about parking and parking costs. Great! Charge them more and limit parking. I would welcome a campaign to introduce heavy traffic restrictions and congestion charges. I'm sure it is NOT the Lake District that William Wordsworth enjoyed.
