拉马尔山谷的点评
点评：Lamar Valley is located at the northeastern corner of this huge and world famous NP.
When preparing our trip I've learnt it is considered the most scenic entrance to the park, and certainly it is.
We were staying in Billings night before and kicked off as early as 7 on a wonderful sunny September day. We followed the 212W road - aka Beartooth Scenic Byway.
It's a fantastic drive with hair pin turns ascending you to Beartooth Vista point - the highest point of 11.000 ft (around 3400 m). Nature is spectacular with rivers, lakes, mountain summits all around you, huge valley and plenty of wildlife.
TIPS:
- Road is open ONLY May-October,
- You need 4-5 hours drive to cover around 150 miles from Billings to YP Grand Loop Rd with stoppings, taking pics,...but without hiking.
