Enjoy a walk along the Detroit River during all four seasons!

点评：The Detroit riverfront is a favorite destination of ours! Living just 30 minutes away, we enjoy walking along the Detroit River on a beautiful day and so come down several times across the year. On this late summer day, we walked from the state park over to Cullen Plaza and a bit more westward. We checked out some public art installations. We sat on a bench to watch a downbound freighter pass by. We leaned on the railing watching the sunlight play on the water. We walked through the marshlands park. There is free parking near Cullen Plaza where a cafe and public restrooms can be found. Of course, the current riverfront has about 5 walkable miles end to end. We stayed about an hour, but certainly since it is free to walk the Riverwalk and it is open all day long 6am-10pm. So each visit can be a different experience depending on the time of year and the time of day. A visit during the winter months is as interesting and beautiful as a visit during any other season. Check the calendar for scheduled events such as the 313 Festival, Shimmer on the River, and Harvest Festival.
