点评:MIMA is an amazing experience situated near the Law Courts and is part of the University. I'm so glad we called in.
Free to enter, this light and spacious building has been beautifully designed to make use of excellent gallery space as well as space for the café and the very beautiful atrium shop area.
Visiting is completely FREE. Access is superb - lifts and stairs. Toilets are to a very high standard. There's a roof terrace - which is more a viewing area than anything else.
It had helped that we'd previously visited THE DORMAN MUSEUM in Middlesbrough and had seen the LINTHORPE POTTERY COLLECTION and the CHRISTOPHER DRESSER gallery. This prior knowledge was useful when viewing the Middlesbrough collection at MIMA - but not essential.
MIMA is the most INCLUSIVE place I've visited. I highly recommend it whether you are passing through, have some time on your hands or just want to go somewhere dry out of the rain.
MIMA is a superb place - with some exciting exhibitions on the way in Spring 2026.
Go. Visit. Spend some time there. I don't think you'll be disappointed. We weren't!
