Historic Trails West - Day Tours的点评
点评：One of the top experiences in my retired life. A bucket list of my wife Wendy from LHOP (Little House on the Prairie) Morris Carter an avid historian and cowboy lead us through 5 days of the Oregon Trail where almost EVERYTHING was set in the era of the settlers migration experience. We went on the actual trails in a Prairie Schooner (large wagon) traversing multiple terrains from gravel roads, rocky passes to fording streams. Had comfortable cushions to sit on fortunately. Porta potties available for when settling for the evening.
Morris narrated every important part of the 60 miles, and did not lack in knowledge of any questions we had. Another family present with us made for delightful travel and conversations.
Temps range 43 at night to mid 80s at day. Slept in tents and wagon at our choice. MEALS were TOPS (hardy, tasty and filling) made by daily with Dutch ovens (cook: Noela) support crew (Chris & Riley) met up with us every afternoon or evening. Last nights dinner was prime rib steaks, a real treat.
After experiencing this trek, one would wish every person in their youth would get a chance to experience it. Gives you an appreciation for what made America, and all the present day amenities we don't realize.
