点评:We just happened upon this remarkable park that is tucked away on the east side of Tucson. We happened to see it on a map as, being a county park, it does not advertise extensively.
This is one of the best features of the area - with no admission fee. With plenty of paved parking, wide paved trails, and an open door to pets, the park is a winner.
It's reason for being is amazing. Water from the snow slowly seeps into fissures in the mountains and emerges in springs which feed three large ponds. The water is full of wildlife and palms have been planted which result in the exotic feel of a desert oasis.
This is also a nature preserve which carefully guards the ecosystem so visitors should be respectful. From Wed. until the end of the week, the original ranch house is open for tours. Information includes the settling of the area, the building and expansion of the house, and the history of local agriculture. The house also includes an art gallery. There are comfortable bathrooms, benches, picnic tables and water fountains to make your stay complete.
