点评:Wild Is Life was easily one of the most memorable experiences of our time in Harare. It’s so much more than simply seeing animals. The whole experience feels incredibly personal, immersive and centred around conservation.
We started by meeting the giraffes, and being able to feed them was incredible. One giraffe even came directly up to me on its own before we started feeding, seemingly asking for some attention, such a special moment! We also saw the funniest sight: monkeys happily drinking lemonade! We watched baby elephants and white rhino being fed milk.
Afterwards, we had a lovely high tea break with tea or coffee and around seven different types of sweets, which was such a nice touch. We then continued exploring as the sun began to set, seeing numerous giraffes and antelopes against the beautiful evening light.
The guided walk afterwards gave us a deeper insight into the animals and their stories. We learned about the lions, including their daily feeding routine, and saw the caracals and hyenas. We were also introduced to a pangolin that is actually the oldest pangolin alive and is being observed as a reference for understanding the species’ longevity.
The property itself is beautiful, with wonderful views, beautiful design and even some naturally balancing rocks that add to the atmosphere.
And then came the perfect ending: prosecco and canapés at sunset, surrounded by giraffes and antelopes with the sky turning deep red. We stayed until it was dark, simply because we didn’t want the experience to end.
The experience cost US$110 per person, and for us it was absolutely worth it considering how much was included and how long we spent there.
What really makes Wild Is Life special is the combination of close encounters with incredible animals, beautiful surroundings, excellent hospitality and a genuine conservation mission. The staff were welcoming and knowledgeable, and it was clear how much care goes into every animal.
If you’re visiting Harare, I would absolutely recommend putting Wild Is Life on your itinerary. Come for the animals, stay for the sunset, and leave with memories you’ll be talking about for a long time.
A truly beautiful and unforgettable experience and one of the highlights of our trip to Zimbabwe.
