Relatively small Toltec site, worth the visit in my opinion
Zona Arqueológica de Tula的点评
点评:These Toltec ruins are great. According to the internet and our guide Tula is the Capital of the Toltec Empire (800-1200 A.D). The admission based on today was 50 pesos/$2.73. We had our own guide but you can get a guide at the site - I can't speak to their basis of knowledge but I can vouch for their availability. These guides cost about 400 pesos/$22. There is a small but well put together museum, on the grounds to visit first. I do recommend Google Translate, because this is what I used, and most if not all information is in Spanish. There is an easy gravel walk to the site, through many beautiful plants and cacti. You will pass through about three souvenir stands. I found the vendors to be respectful. Even in November, you will need a hat and water - maybe buy a hat from one of the vendors for a few pesos? We approached the site from the back side of the photo shown here. There is a small covered area first showing what the colour of the pyramid is supposed to have been, along with carvings. Coming around to the front - shown in the image to the left - you can see the top of the warriors. A short climb up and you can really see these warriors. Of all the pyramids in Mexico I visited this was by far the easiest climb. Atmosphere is peaceful and open. Crowd size was small. This site is for anyone wanting to be outdoors, do a little pyramid climbing and obsessed with history.
