点评:Lovely place! Came here with the grandkids and was pleasantly surprised. Free entry to the visitor village, only had to pay for parking which covers you for the whole day, seems reasonable at £6 since it's a charity
Went on a weekday, so the cafe was inside the Welcome Centre. Nice and warm, has a coffee machine, some pasties, and sandwiches. Kids had packed lunches and the volunteers said we were welcome to eat those inside in there or in the Kestrel seating area! Though we stayed in the Welcome Centre - Grandkids were occupied while we had our coffees - there's a small activity area at the back with things like free colouring, a doll house and blocks and some wildlife themed activity sheets.
Even though it was soggy, we took the kids to the playground, which seems to be all new equipment. Got a free map too, and there's lots of walking trails (although we didn't get time to do much of them). Saw lots of birds and some deer! We will definitely visit again - seems much cheaper than some other nature reserves we've been to which charge for entry AND parking
