点评:This experience was less than two hours but we felt like we did so much!
We arrived in the pouring rain and were greeted with umbrellas and a warm hearth. Once inside we were given aprons and split in to groups of no more than three. It was the five of us and another family of three. Each group was given the ingredients and coached on making scones. The ladies were attentive to everyone, taking pictures for us and making sure no one over kneaded the dough. From there the soon-to-be scones were put in the oven and we were led out to the barn for an informative talk about what the sheep farming industry used to be and what it is like now. Then Bailey was brought out and we were told then shown what it was like for Bailey to herd the sheep. After the demonstration we asked if any of the sheep could be pet. There was one, Frank, who was considered the family's pet and we were allowed to touch his wooly back. Following our meet and greet with Frank we were brought inside for some tea and our freshly baked scones. To make this treat even better there was fresh cream and rhubarb-ginger jam!
If you want to learn how to make the best scones (slightly sweet Not dry, hard, and falling apart) or what it is like to be a sheep farmer or see a herding demonstration this is the experience for you. The five us ranging in ages from 16, 18, 23, and 50's all enjoyed it!
