No Better Way to Get to Know Iceland

点评：I can't sing this company's praises loudly enough. On our first day in Iceland, Ulfar picked us up at the airport with bags of delicious homemade food in hand. Within an hour, he felt like family. He gave us the perfect introduction to the country, sharing info about its geology, history, culture, myths, and daily life as he drove us around for a surprisingly enlightening tour in the morning dark!. In our 1.5 days with him, we hiked to and into a hidden lava cave, hiked into an old volcano (hoping for ice, but it was too warm), toured a spectacular greenhouse in his hometown, bathed in a hot spring in the mountains that he created on the spot by temporarily damming up a hot creek, amd dined on salmon, hard-boiled eggs, tomato soup, and fruit dipped in chocolate, all of which he cooked over a steam vent in the ground. I think we would have enjoyed our trip even without our time with Ulfar, but I am quite sure we wouldn't have fallen so deeply in love with the place so quickly. 100 stars. Can't recommend highly enough.
