点评：Renishaw Hall is a gem. Home of the Sitwell family. The gardens are open from March to October on Wednesday to Sunday. The Hall is open for guided tours only each Friday. They have put on extra tours in August and we went on one of those. Our guide, Margaret, was a font of knowledge. Her tour was very informative, mixed with humour and the hour went very quickly. It is an amazing house with an eclectic mix of treasures and family keepsakes. The family still occupy the house. The gardens and grounds are impressive, beautifully maintained and we took 1.5 hrs to slowly walk around the grounds. Considering the hot weather recently they seem to have coped very well, although the fishpond had suffered, the fish were being kept in tanks for their well being. To top it all the cafe on site is very good with a good choice of food, which was delicious and plentiful. A great place to visit.
