The Exeter Canal trip - a really enjoyable morning trip

点评：I’ve wanted to do the Exeter canal trip for a long time and I have finally done it! I thought it was a really enjoyable trip. The journey along the canal was fascinating and the commentary helped identify many of the things we passed along the way. The trip provides bird watchers the chance of seeing the mud flat and marshes from a different perspective. For people with an interest in local history it shows how the business men of Exeter financed a canal that allowed them to export wool and grain and import brandy and wines! Passing through the locks was a great experience and seeing the Turf Hotel and the Double Locks pub from a different direction was great. Finally, the arrival in the Exeter Canal Basin was a great way to end the journey.
The crew on board worked hard throughout the trip and were happy and friendly and willing to talk to passengers. Finally, the refreshments were very reasonably priced. I thoroughly enjoyed the trip and can really recommend it as very good value for money.
