点评:We just finished a two-day visit to Waterville Valley Resort (moms and 10 year olds). The skiing itself was enjoyable, but a few operational details made the experience more stressful than it needed to be.
The shuttle service was the biggest issue. The last shuttle left before the lodge restaurant closed, and there was no clear communication about when the final pickup would happen or whether another shuttle would return if people were still waiting. We missed the last shuttle without realizing it and met several other groups who had the same experience and were unsure how they would get back. Fortunately, we had a friend who was able to make multiple trips to Black Bear Lodge so we could return, but without that, we’re not sure what guests were expected to do.
There was also no sun-shading in the lodge restaurant, limited seating near the fire pits, dining hours that didn’t align with the last lift, and the downstairs marketplace ran out of bagels by late morning. Ticketing and rental processes were also somewhat confusing.
On a positive note, our server Elizabeth was excellent—friendly, attentive, and thoughtful. She even checked on us the following day when she wasn’t our server, which really stood out.
Waterville Valley has a great mountain and a lot of potential, but clearer shuttle communication and a few operational improvements would make a big difference for guests.
