点评:This park is pretty well maintained except for the Mound Trail from the parking area. It has very old earth retaining plastic material that has raised up in many areas causing a trip hazard. I have called it to the attention of the staff in the Visitor Center. Also the actual mound room and film in the museum is no longer open. There is a room of artifacts and good information on the mounds and their excavation. This is a charge of 3.50 per person.
The Temple Mound was amazing and a great flight of stairs to the top.
The campground is small but excellent. The camp hosts do a great job and are very welcoming and friendly. The bathhouse is spotless, private and lots of hot water. Laundry on site and a little book exchange. The sites are level and plenty large. There are a couple " buddy" sites so read descriptions before you reserve. Several sites on the lakeshore. We had pull through # 18 that was perfect. Good walking trails, pedal boats and canoes for rent on the pretty lake. A couple small alligators spotted on our water tour. All in all, we would certainly return!
