点评:A couple blocks from Page Museum in LaBrea, close (a block) to exit parking, you’ll likely walk in high 11 UV (Canadian Science/invented) measuring “off the scale” as the open-air market stalls. It’s really like an outdoor market version of Canada’s indoor St Lawrence (1800s American Abolitionists’ Toronto) or rather Lonsdale Quay (Vancouver). The Polish perogies or Singapore’s Banana Leaf is at the opposite end from French snails and Monsieur Marcel market ($13 pear crumble pie) with YummyNutty almond protein powders. Almost beside there is Bennett’s frozen banana/ice cream and Bob’s Doughnut (traditional flavours unlike Tim Horton’s Canadian coffee), close to Diner all-day breakfast—facing Kip’s Toyland and Brazilian BBQ. Further down is Paris Bakery, which is like Ontario’s Bagel Nash with Challa that inspired Jerusalem’s Holy Bagel. The Jews @Fairfax also brought pickles to the markets of LA. Besides the butcher “Pollo Asado,” I didn’t see anything more affordable or better value. Tourists will like the supersized (T&Y) cookies. Others might find nearby Grove a tourist favourite (or tourist trap) as “LA Original” Market.
