Strong knees, hips and bladder essential, but the walk of a lifetime

点评：This is probably the most beautiful hike we have ever done. Dramatic mountains, electric blue water, ( and luckily for us electric blue sky), clouds of blossom and wheeling vultures. Every bend reveals a new vista … there are absolutely no ‘boring bits’
I am a fit 64 year old who is a bit nervous of heights but I can confirm there are no scary bits.. the metal stairs are surrounded by high rocks so you don’t feel you are walking in to a void…and there are a few slightly narrow sections but there is always a thoughtfully provided hand rail to get you through.
A few notes…
I took poles which I loved, but many ( younger ones) did without.
We took the shuttle bus which was very efficient … no worries about completing the walk on time. The initial trip from the car park to the start of the walk takes you along the ‘route des Cretes’. Make sure you sit on the right side of the bus for mind blowing views!
The end of the walk has been mentioned but it still took me by surprise. When you get to the road, after the tunnel, make sure you keep some energy in the tank for a solid 35 min steep uphill climb to the shuttle pick up ( and some much needed loos and a bar if you have time.
Finally bear in mind there are no loos en route. There are quite a few people along the way so darting into a bush is tricky…so go when you can and not when you must!

虽然之前已经提到过徒步的终点，但还是让我感到意外。穿过隧道到达公路后，一定要留点体力，因为接下来还有整整35分钟的陡峭上坡路要爬，才能到达接驳车的集合点（如果时间允许，那里还有急需的洗手间和酒吧）。
最后提醒一句，沿途没有洗手间。路上人很多，所以想找个地方解决一下不太现实……所以尽量在方便的时候去，而不是迫不得已的时候！
