Amazing northern lights adventure

点评：We came to the centre for the Winter Skies learning vacation. What an amazing, exciting, learning adventure we had! We came a day early and left a day after the scheduled program because we came on the train (another story). Out of the seven nights we were there, we saw great displays of northern lights on four days.
There were interesting talks in the evenings about how the sun and magnetic fields create the lights. During the days, we got to go dog-sledding (what fun for both the dogs and us!), snowshoe walking, and riding in a komatik out onto Hudson Bay.
The food was extraordinarily good, especially for us as vegetarians. But non-vegetarians had great food as well.
The only downside was the dorm-style accommodations, with the bathrooms and shower down the hall. But that was very minor relative to the whole experience. Of course, it's rather cold there in February, but dressing appropriately helps a lot.
All in all, a wonderful, once-in-a-lifetime experience!
