点评:Wow! what a gem of a place! we had no idea what to expect and were taken aback by how much there was to see and what a fascinating life Ellen Terry lived and what an incredible legacy... she was responsible for all the children having a new pair of shoes each year in the village when she lived there and was responsible for the development of institutions for the blind.
There are 10 000 possessions to see in the house! It was fascinating and a joy to look around. Such a varied collection. The staff were first class and had so much information about her life to tell us... really added to our enjoyment of our visit.
We sat outside in the glorious sunshine we had for our visit and had excellent apricot flapjack, cheese scones and millionaire's short bread!
REALLY recommend visiting Smallhythe Place.
