点评:We visited Hughenden Manor whilst staying in the area and were not disappointed. Arriving promptly at 10 am, our first stop was the cafe for coffee and a breakfast croissant. The cafe is situated in the old stable block (alongside the shop) and has a limited menu but some nice baked goods and great coffee. We were on the doorstep for the house opening at 11 where we were given a brief introduction and then could wander at will. Most rooms had stewards to provide more information. There are three floors to explore so we interspersed each of these with the free talks by volunteers in the former kitchen. These were a highlight of our visit with a wealth of information about the building’s history, the life of Benjamin Disraeli and Operation Hillside - most secret mapmaking in WW2. There a temporary exhibition of photographs from The Polar Failure Artic Expedition on the top floor.
We also visited the pretty Hughenden parish church on the way out of the grounds. The gardens are most attractive and there are walks around the estate though we did not have time on this occasion.

离开庄园时,我们还参观了美丽的休根登教区教堂。花园非常漂亮,庄园里还有步行道,可惜我们这次没有时间。
