点评:The landscape is the star here. We visited at 10.00am and it was cold and drizzly rain. This added to the atmosphere. A steady climb up to the fort highlighted its hill location. The visitor centre staff were very friendly and helpful. A short walk then to the fort ruins. They are well preserved. Easy to see the layout. The Commander’s private headquarters right in the centre was interesting. The barracks closer to the wall were located strategically so the men could be ready quickly in the event of threat. But the highlight was standing on the wall and looking down the other side. The steep valley below highlighted the perfect location of the fort. It would have been an impressive sight from the north and the challenge of attacking it by first climbing up the steep hillside would have been daunting. This was a fighting fort. The best one.
