Hatfield House的点评
点评：My partner and I spent an afternoon visiting Hatfield House at the weekend. The house itself wasn’t too busy, so we had loads of time to explore the detail of each room with the help of the incredibly knowledgeable staff, strategically placed throughout to building, providing fascinating insights into the history of Robert Cecil’s Manor House.
One member of staff I have to mention is Dermot, who made the trip unforgettable with his incredible knowledge of the TV and film productions filmed there over the years, as well as the books in the reading room, the gardens, and countless other stories about the house. What a privilege to have had a conversation with somebody so enthusiastic and passionate about history - thank you again, Dermot!
We also explored the gardens and enjoyed a long walk among the eclectic plants and flowers.
Admission costs £27 per adult and could easily fill a whole day if you bring a picnic! Would definitely recommend for history lovers or those looking for a relaxing afternoon in nature. My partner, who is a teacher, has already started to plan a GCSE school trip there as they are keen to get students immersed in primary sources!
Will certainly be back!
