点评：A fascinating Tudor Manor and gardens, with a chequered but very interesting history. It's great that the current owner is clearly investing in the estate, including by making it as self-sufficient in energy as possible, with solar, batteries, and heat pumps. You can be pretty much free to wander the public parts of the house, but we joined a guired tour. Our guide, Tiger-Lily, was knowledgeable, witty, and made us feel welcome and relaxed in the various parts of the house. A very pleasant change from the regimented access that can be experienced at some other places.
A sandwich in the restaurant was excellent, and the service good.
If you have an EV, you can charge it in the car park while there.
All of the staff we encountered were both friendly and helpful.
