点评:This is a stunning castle (which is now ruins) established by the Normans in a strategically important location overlooking Salisbury. This is an English Heritage location and we used our Annual Pass to enter. There is a small shop with gifts & a coffee machine should people wish to have a drink. This isn a popular venue with local Dog Walkers who use the surrounding fields to exercise.
The castle is accompanied by a cathedral and was visited by a number of monarchs between 11-1300 AD.
The ruins are accompanied by a number of excellent information boards which allow visitors to develop an understanding of the context of which the castle originally stood & the experiences of those who lived there.
The location boasts a number of stunning views of Salisbury & the cathedral (which is equally impressive).
I would say you need a couple of hours to really enjoy the venue.
