Enjoyable Visit but shadowed by Parking Charges

点评：We visited Sizergh while here on holiday near Kendal. It is owned by National Trust so as non members we paid a reduced summer rate of just of £13 each which was good value.
We had arrived early so we could enjoy a walk around the surrounding area and visit the house & gardens to make a day of it.
I was absolutely dumbfounded by the car parking charge of £9.50 for over 6 hours....if I am honest that's too much as most National Trust near us are £5 which I feel is ample.
All told we enjoyed our almost 3 mile circular walk via the church, inside the home and the gardens too.
There are a few free parking spaces in front of the church and had I known I would of parked there and walked in using the blue trail.
We took our own packed lunch and was fortunate enough to get a table with a parasol so could eat in the shade.
Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area....obviously the car parking fee is less if only there a couple of hours.
I really think they need to rethink the parking fees as it makes the day expensive...especially with how people are struggling financially at present
