点评:We spotted this place by chance as we drove past. The staff on the admission desk told us that realistically we wouldn't have the best experience in the couple of hours that remained before they shut. We had a coffee in their cafe and we decided to we'd pop back another day for a leisurely visit. We booked on line and saved a bit on the admission fee which isn't cheap but it is very good value for money. We arrived just after 10am and didn't leave until 3.30pm. The staff and volunteers are all very friendly and chatty. The café has a good menu and the toilets are well maintained. The buildings are laid out around the site along woodland paths which might be a bit of an issue for the less abled. The stairs to the upper level of some buildings are very steep and narrow so I kept a firm grip on the handrails. I learned lots of interesting bits of history and all in all it was a very entertaining day. The site is also the home of "The Repair Shop". They were filming the day that we arrived and we did see a couple of the cast wandering around.
