点评:This is an experience best enjoyed by families with small children. I went as a solo older person (a Senior concession would have been nice) and it felt like entering a children's playground. Don’t get me wrong. I have nothing against kids and the best part of the visit was seeing families have SO much fun painting pumpkins, enjoying the owls and meerkats and laughing on the tractor ride and at the play area; its just that I felt as if I had entered an overly commercial play zone rather than a ‘museum’ of rural Kent life. I wanted to see the Oast house and hop pickers huts as I had been, as a young boy, on the ‘tail end’ of Londoners coming to the hop fields to pick hops. These and other buildings were interesting and credit is due for saving them but the overall view I took away was that I had just visited a theme park. Having said that, families will love the experience especially with Halloween and Christmas coming close on the heels of this ‘grumpy old geezer’😁
