点评:We visited the Museum of Kent Life with a couple of hours to spare, arriving around 2:45pm. Entry for three adults and two children (one disabled, with a carer) cost £60, which felt expensive for what we experienced.
There was a clear sign advertising a 3:00pm bird display (2nd–4th May), so we waited—only to be told 20 minutes later it wasn’t happening. A frustrating waste of time.
Overall, the place feels like it’s gone downhill and is now more of a children’s amusement area than a heritage site. The animals were a real concern—birds of prey and owls appeared to have very limited space, and watching a buzzard repeatedly hit the roof of its enclosure was upsetting.
To top it off, Dottie’s café/shop was already closed at 3:45pm.
Between dodging a tractor ride going round in circles and the general atmosphere, it felt more like a holiday camp than a museum. Sadly, we wouldn’t recommend it—very disappointing and not great value for money.
