点评:As a child, my favorite book was "Castle" by David Macaulay. He used Welsh castles as his inspiration, specifically the one at Conwy, so going to Castell Conwy was a bit of a rite of passage for me. Never did I think I would ever come to see it in person, but decades later, my pilgrimage is complete!
Indeed, I felt like a little school boy again, imagining knights walking through the courtyard or archers shooting the enemy through the slits in the wall. It was really exciting and the highlight of the Wales trip for me.
If you are handicapped/disabled, you will get free admission (don't be afraid to ask). Having said that, there is pretty much no access for the wheelchair bound. I myself use a cane to get around, and you will find some parts of the castle very precarious and challenging. Lots of stairs if you wish to walk the top walls (recommended) and the stone walkways are quite uneven.
